Safety Inspector’s Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment, tools and working conditions to ensure safety of workers
- Keep current with new legislation and health and safety standards
- Maintain occupational health and safety training matrix
- Prepare various safety and mishap reports
- Enforce safety rules and regulations
- Instruct employees in use of equipment and work methods
- Write reports with regard to inspections and investigations and complete all paperwork
- Provide training and educational support to personnel
- Ensure employees have suitable protective equipment, such as eye glasses, ear protectors and gloves
- Demonstrate knowledge of Federal safety regulations and job safety analysis
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Five years industrial operation or maritime trade experience
- Must pass a pre-employment screen
