Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with Production Managers, Engineering, Project Managers, Estimating, and Quality to develop manufacturing plans based on Fairlead or Customer drawings, specifications & requirements.
  • Use CostPoint Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to create purchase requisitions and manufacturing orders.
  • Plan Buy material to be purchased and plan Make material to be assembled in-house.
  • Identify MO shortages and take action to ensure there will be enough material available to fulfill planned work when scheduled.
  • Work closely and communicate with the Production Managers and Project Managers to relay material shortages and other risks that may impact the production build schedule.
  • Evaluate production schedule, execute MRP to the plan, and make recommendations to preserve schedule and reduce project costs.
  • Read and interpret Fairlead or Customer drawings and specifications.
  • Work with Production to develop best manufacturing plans and processes.
  • Maintain configuration control of work packages to ensure released Manufacture Orders and Manufacturing Bills of Material (BOM) are released and accurate to drive requirements to procurement and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate with the Planning Manager in resolving production planning and control issues.
  • Experience or knowledge in manufacturing processes including welding, fabrication, painting, sand blasting, coating, plating, testing, CNC machining, and electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Will participate in, and occasionally lead reviews of planned process steps to ensure compliance to Fairlead or Customer requirements.
  • Adhere to companies Quality Management System, along with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Participate in weekly production meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience reading and understanding blueprints and specifications, including special controlled processes as defined by internal standards, government standards, and regulator and statutory standards.
  • Must have working knowledge of blueprint and modeling software, experience with Solidworks preferred.
  • Must be a team oriented, dependable individual, knowledgeable of identified manufacturing processes for work performed in a job shop environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft 360 suite.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience with Excel macros preferred.
  • Must have experience with ERP & MRP software. Experience with Deltek CostPoint preferred.
  • Must have strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree preferred, but not required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS with 3 years of manufacturing planning experience, AA/AS with 5 years of manufacturing planning experience, or 10 years of manufacturing planning experience.
