Portsmouth, VA, 9 February 2016 – Fairlead Precision Manufacturing & Integration (FPMI) was recently awarded a contract to produce telescoping conveyors for FMH Conveyors in Hampton. We are executing this work as an FMH Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) as additional capacity to their production facility. Our initial order is for 100 complete units with a period of performance of March through August 2016. The majority of this work is being performed at the 750 Chautauqua Avenue facility where all the unit component sub-assemblies are being fabricated with final painting, assembly and testing being performed at our Victory Blvd. facility. To date, FPMI has completed ten (10) units including six (6) that have already been delivered.
This effort required FPMI to duplicate the FMH production facility including all weld table/fixtures, 50+ jigs, paint carts and assembly stands. All this preparation was accomplished in approximately 30 days by our team.
