Portsmouth, VA – 13 August 2015 Fairlead Integrated was awarded the design and development contract for the Expedient Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) Kit Prototype.  The System of Systems Consortium (SOSSEC), an Other Transaction Authority (OTA), on behalf of the U.S Air Force and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), issued the contract.

The Expedient ADR Kit Prototype is a containerized airfield repair solution that holds equipment, tools, and materials necessary to rapidly repair the runway. Faster, stronger methods to bring damaged airfields back online is crucial, especially in remote combat areas. Even relatively simple runway damage can shut down air re-supply and reinforcement, which decreases our military’s competence and puts our warfighters at risk.

The Expedient ADR Kit design will consist of two Quadcon containers. Both containers will hold the necessary items for runway repairs; each container will weigh less than 10,000 pounds.
