Field Service Technician’s Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document results of factory acceptance testing of electro-mechanical products
  • Oversee qualification testing of Fairlead products at regional test labs including hook-up and operation of equipment
  • Commission control systems’ components per manufacturers or internal documentation
  • Perform electrical and mechanical modifications to fielded equipment
  • Assist Engineering staff in developing test plans and work procedures associated with Fairlead product support and test.
  • Coordinate equipment logistics with other departments, organizations, and customers to ensure success of testing/commissioning
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment such as PLCs, Variable Speed Drives, and other related control systems in a shipboard environment
  • Demonstrate experience in PLC logic and troubleshoot any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.; and HMI or SCADA troubleshoot and configure of any of the following software packages Rockwell and Siemens
  • Red-line electrical schematics and P&ID drawings
  • Work on energized electrical equipment up to 1kV using appropriate PPE
  • Travel up to 35% annually, both domestically, as well as internationally
  • Obtain a current US passport


  • Degree from from a technical college or military institute plus three years of experience in a similar position
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment screen
