Boat Shop Technician’s Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of boats and an operational knowledge of propulsion and electrical systems
- Perform maintenance duties involved with the repair of small boats
- Troubleshoot and repair the vessel per the specifications within the work package
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Meet deadlines and maintain quality work throughout projects
- Work multiple ongoing projects on and off-site
- Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Continuously learn and apply lessons learn to other projects
- Perform various maintenance duties involved with the repair of small boats
- Research parts to comply with commercial and government equipment specifications
- Work independently and in a team environment
- Familiar with multiple different driveline configurations and components (inboard / outboard, sterndrives, jet drives and full outboard)
- Read drawings and effectively work to NAVSEA standards
- Possess knowledge of different 12v and 24v electrical systems (engine monitoring systems, navigation, radar, and communication systems, etc.)
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Must pass a pre-employment screen
- Reliable transportation to and from work
