A fairlead is a small piece of deck equipment which is used to guide and steady a line, under significant force between two objects. It redirects and focuses the applied power, in a different direction, facilitating the safe mooring of a ship. Similarly, Fairlead is a small organization accustomed to steadily applying its resources in new directions, helping our customers safely navigate new horizons.

Miller retains two divisions of the Earl Industries company - Precision Manufacturing & Integration and Integrated Power & Controls - and together they became Miller IMG with their capabilities spun off into a Veteran Owned Small Business.

Miller IMG Announces Name Change to Fairlead Integrated

Miller IMG, a prominent Hampton Roads-based maritime integrated solutions company, is now Fairlead Integrated. Founder Jerry Miller, a veteran in the ship repair industry in the region, will continue to lead a team of experienced engineers and other professionals as CEO.

Acquired Davis Boat Works

In 1958, Mr. R. K. Davis, an area tugboat owner, founded Davis Boat Works. Initially, Davis Boat Works started as a business to complement his tugboat company's repairs.

Fairlead Announces Organizational Changes

Two divisions of Fairlead, Fairlead Integrated Power & Controls (FIPC) and Fairlead Precision Manufacturing & Integration (FPMI), merged to one company simply called Fairlead, a division of Fairlead Integrated, effective 1 January 2018.

Acquired 12.5-acre site of former Ocean Marine and Yacht Center
